mission vision
Mission
Marblehead Girls Youth Lacrosse is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit run by local volunteers dedicated to creating an exceptional lacrosse experience for Marblehead girls. Our mission is to:
- Grow a genuine love for the game within our community
- Build strong fundamental skills while keeping the game fun
- Field competitive, well-coached teams that represent Marblehead with sportsmanship and pride
- Prepare players who aspire to compete at the high school level—and support all who simply love to play
We rely on the energy and involvement of our community. Volunteers are always needed as Board members, Team Parents, and event helpers. If you’d like to get involved or have questions about the program, please reach out at MarbleheadGirlsYouthLacrosse@gmail.com.
Core Principles
- Play with purpose. Our teams compete to win, but never at the expense of integrity. Players learn to honor both the written and unwritten rules of the game and to understand the unique roles and responsibilities of every position on the field.
- Build skill at every level. MGYL players develop age-appropriate fundamentals—catching, throwing, shooting, dodging, attacking, defending—and grow their confidence with each season.
- Lead with respect. Sportsmanship is the heart of our program. Players, coaches, and parents are expected to show positivity and respect for teammates, opponents, referees, and fans at all times.
- Bring effort and teamwork. Every player contributes to every play. We value hustle, focus, coachability, and commitment to the team above all else.
- Coach with character. MGYL coaches set the tone by modeling respect for players, opponents, officials, parents, and fans—creating a culture where learning and love for the game come first.
